This Privacy Policy describes how VeriSift ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website at verisift.ai (the "Site") and our AI-powered lead verification and research platform (the "Service").

1. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, how we use it, and with whom we share it.
  • Right to access. You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to delete. You have the right to request that we delete your personal information.
  • Right to correct. You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out. You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. At the time this Privacy Policy was last updated, we do not sell any personal information.
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

You may exercise these rights up to twice during a twelve (12) month period. To make a request, contact us at [email protected]. We will verify your identity before processing any request and respond within forty-five (45) calendar days (or ninety (90) days for complex requests, with notice).

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information. Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Payment information. Billing details and payment method information. Payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full credit card numbers.
  • Uploaded business data. CSV files and business lead data that you upload for processing through the Service. This typically includes business names, addresses, phone numbers, and other business contact information.
  • Communications. Information you provide when you contact us for support or feedback.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data. Pages visited, features used, actions taken within the Service, timestamps, and session duration.
  • Device and browser information. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Cookies. We use session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain until deleted) to maintain your session, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function properly.

Information from Third-Party Analytics

We use analytics tools such as Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our Site and Service. These tools may collect information about your browsing behavior, demographics, and interests using cookies and similar technologies.

Important Note About AI Providers

When you use the Service, the business lead data you upload is transmitted to third-party AI providers for processing. These providers process your data to perform web searches, verify business information, and generate enrichment results. We select providers that commit to not using customer data for model training. However, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of Anthropic and Perplexity AI for complete details.

5. Data Retention

  • Account information. Retained while your account is active, plus a reasonable period after closure for legal and operational purposes.
  • Uploaded business data and results. Retained while your account is active. You may delete your data at any time. Upon account termination, data is deleted within thirty (30) days.
  • Payment records. Retained as required by tax and financial regulations.
  • Usage and analytics data. Retained in anonymized or aggregated form for up to twenty-four (24) months.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Secure authentication and access controls
  • Regular security reviews
  • Limited employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Service at your own risk.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. We currently do not respond to Do Not Track signals, as there is no industry-standard method for doing so. We will update this policy if a standard is established.
